Garden diary

We are in the heart of winter, with rain, frost and hail in places. Generally, when we have dry weather and not intense frost, we continue pruning and shaping the ornaments. During the pruning we check for any dry branches, recesses that can overwinter insects, we collect the leaves and the plant remains of the prunings (opportunity for composting, in order to give feedback to our garden again). After pruning and frosts (also valid for February, if such conditions exist) it is advisable to operate with copper preparations. There is also time to add compost or manure to our plants and carve them.
With the beginning of the new year, the beginning of a new year begins and is set for our plants as well.
IMPORTANT WORKS: FERTILIZATIONS - COPPER SPRAYS - PRUNINGS - ADDITION OF ORGANIC SUBSTANCE

The last month of winter and the cold still holds well. Pruning continues and ends in all the ornamental (except very sensitive per area -e.g. lanthanas, polygala)
Our fertilization is now more, especially on rainy days of the month and where we had not intervened in previous months. We can now dig deep and slowly prepare the holes in our plants. We support the young trees, perfect our shapes and control and maintain our irrigation system slowly. Ideal month for lawn aeration, we make deep haircuts, especially in wilderness, lubricate with nitrogen, but also complete formulations and improve any holes in the lawn or gaps with springs. It is also a suitable month for seedbed preparation and new plantings of ornamental plants and trees.
